Tysons corner is located between McLean and Vienna along the beltway’s I-495. Being Fairfax County’s center of business, Tysons Corner is home to the largest shopping mall in the D.C. metro area as well as the corporate headquarters for Hilton Worldwide, Freddie Mac, Capital One, Booz Allen Hamilton, and many others.
Tysons Corner offers fantastic commuter options. For drivers, I-495 and Rte. 267 offer easy access to the beltway, D.C., and Dulles Airport. Two local main roads, Rte. 7 and Rte. 123, intersect in Tysons offering direct routes to the heart of Vienna, McLean, Reston, and Falls Church. The Silver Line is the most recent addition to the metro with four stops in Tysons Corner. The Silver Line offers easy an easy transit option to D.C., Arlington, and Reston with plans to expand to Dulles Airport and Ashburn.
Though Tysons Corner is largely commercial, there are opportunities for residential living. Garden style and high rise condos surround Tysons Corner mall and the silver line metro stops. Farther from the mall, south of Rte. 7, the condo buildings give way to single-family homes and townhouses. Tysons Corner benefits from Fairfax County’s strong education system. Elementary schools in Tysons Corner and the immediately surrounding areas include Freedom Hill Elementary, Westbriar Elementary, and Westgate Elementary. The middle school is Joyce Kilmer Middle School. High schools include nearby George C. Marshall High, James Madison High, or McLean High.
