Kara Waghelstein

I was born and raised on the sunny Central Coast of California! I went to college at San Diego State University, where I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Journalism.

I took my love of writing, planning and people, and cultivated a career as a Corporate Event Planner for over 10 years in downtown San Diego. During this time, I met my husband and his career for the United States Navy brought us to Washington D.C, Naples, Italy and back to D.C. again!

While our lives in Italy were spent much like an episode of The Bachelor- traveling around Europe drinking yummy Italian wines whilst taking cooking classes and befriending every nonna around-we are excited to be back on the east coast once more!

As a Military Wife, I have become accustomed to moving every few years and the challenges that come with it. Not only from what a logistical hardship relocating & moving can be, but also the need and desire to make each house a home for yourself and your family. I have been often told by landlords and potential buyers/renters that I should be a realtor because of my attention to detail and desire to help others. I realized…I agreed with them!

I am extremely honored to have found a home with the entire Bic DeCaro team! Their ideals of putting client’s needs first, quality over quantity and never compromising integrity, encapsulated what I was looking for.

Away from the office, you may spot me doing something active in nature with Thor, our golden retriever puppy, or exploring all of the hidden gems that the entire DMV has to offer!

As you embark on this exciting adventure, I’d love the opportunity to take my history of exceeding expectations and assist you in finding a home that you can grow with for years to come… Andiamo!

Testimonials

Bic was fantastic. We were nervous first-time homebuyers who didn’t have much of a clue and Bic helped us out through the entire process. We never felt pressured when she showed us listings–she would let us walk through and then give us her personal opinion about the homes and whether they were suited for what we wanted. When we finally found a place, she worked …
